n June 11, students of the schools of Public Policy and Public Administration received their Masters Degree diplomas. During this ceremony, three outstanding students received Merit Scholarships in the name of David Diego Ladowski (z"l). David Diego was one of the victims of the terrorist bombing at the "Frank Sinatra" cafeteria of the Hebrew University on July 31, 2002.

David Diego was born in Argentina in 1973 and in 1992 he immigrated to Israel. He began his studies at the University at the Rothberg International Institute and in 1996 he received his first two diplomas; one in Communications at the School of Social Studies and a second in German Culture at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He was fluent in 5 languages (Spanish, English, German, French and Hebrew) and he was able to communicate in many more. David Diego served in the army as an Academic Officer. He worked in the Rothberg International Institute and in the Hebrew University and also at the Ministry of Communications as supervisor.

In January 2001, he joined the Cadet Program at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel and simultaneously studied for a Masters Degree in Public Administration.

On the day of the tragic terrorist attack, David Diego was at the University to deliver his final thesis. He had just been named Second Secretary Deputy Chief of Mission to serve at the Embassy in Lima, Peru.

The Ladowski family had the initiative of giving the David Diego Ladowski Merit Scholarship awards as a way to continue with David Diego's legacy and to unite him to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem forever.
